Mission Team Information and Schedule

 

Place of Service:                                  Beaufort, South Carolina

Term of Service:                                 1 week (Sunday to Saturday)

Summer Weeks:                                 July 8-14, 2007

Pre-project Orientation:                    April 20-21, 2007

Housing:                                               Ramada Inn, Beaufort, SC

Cost:                                                      $195/person (includes housing and food)

 

Principle Function:                To foster spiritual growth in participants through mission service.

Principle Ministries:

Ministry Teams will consist of 8-12 people from the same church.  Each ministry team will be assigned a morning and afternoon ministry.  Based on need, interest, and skills, each team will be assigned one or two of the following ministries: 

Kid's Clubs are designed for pre-Christian (non-churched) children.  They include music, games, crafts, Bible stories and lessons, recreation and refreshments.  Possible locations will be apartment complexes, backyards, and churches.

Sports Clinics are designed to use sports and recreation games to teach fundamentals of sportsmanship, life, and faith.  Camps are geared toward pre-Christian children 5 - 12 years old. 

Bethlehem Day Camp is a partnership between Bethlehem Baptist Church and LowCountry Ministries.  Participants will plan an extensive day camp and/or sports camp experience for 60-100 at risk children per day.

Construction:  Participants can work with the Beaufort Habitat for Humanity to provide adequate shelter for a local family.  There will be an age requirement.
