Mission Venture 2007:  Bluffton Area

Mission Team Information and Schedule

 

Place of Service:                                  Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, and Jasper County

Term of Service:                                  1 week (Sunday to Saturday)

Summer Weeks:                                 June 17-23; June 24-30, 2007

Pre-project Orientation:                   April 20-21, 2007

Housing:                                                Running W Retreat Center

Cost:                                                      App. $195/person (includes housing and food)

 

Principle Function:                To foster spiritual growth in participants through mission service.

 

Principle Ministries:  Ministry Teams will consist of 8-12 people from the same church.  Each ministry team will be assigned a morning and afternoon ministry.  Based on need, interest, and skills, each team will be assigned one or two of the following ministries: 

 

Kid's Clubs are designed for pre-Christian (non-churched) children.  They include music, games, crafts, Bible stories and lessons, recreation and refreshments.  Possible locations will be apartment complexes, backyards, and churches.

Sports Clinics are designed to use sports and recreation games to teach fundamentals of sportsmanship, life, and faith.  Camps are geared toward pre-Christian children 5 - 12 years old.  Possible locations include schools, the Boys and Girls Club, local churches. 

Creative Arts ministry will include face painting, clowning, and ballooning at Hilton Head Island shopping areas.

Light Construction ministry allows teams to use yard work and other kinds of clean up to help area residents.

Construction through Habitat for Humanity allows those students 16 and older to participate in a variety of work projects supervised through our local Habitat for Humanity chapter.
