Lowcountry Ministries I – Performance Team
Summer Missionary/Sojourner/Innovator
Place of Service: Hilton Head Island, South Carolina
Term of Service: May 29 - August 4, 2007
Local Orientation: May 29 - June 1, 2007 (Required for all staff)
Day Off: Wednesday
Number of volunteers needed: 2 Summer Missionaries, 2 Sojourners, and 4 Innovators
Principle Function: To relate to the people who live, work, and play on Hilton Head Island earning the right to speak to them about a relationship with Christ as one meets their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Sponsoring Ministry
The purpose of LowCountry Ministries (LCM) is to facilitate volunteers of all ages to express the love of God and the care of the churches to the people who live, play, work and visit in Beaufort and Jasper counties, South Carolina. LCM is a ministry of the Savannah River Baptist Association (SRBA) of churches.
Student volunteer ministries will include: Creative art performances, children's activities in malls (face painting/balloon twisting), lifeguard visitation and ministry, retail employee ministry, day camp ministry, and campground ministry.

Personal Characteristics
1. A Christian student who is actively involved in a local church.
2. There is no ethnic or gender preference.
3. Mature student who is able to handle supervisory roles
4. Self starter who is able to lead ministries
5. A willingness to learn
6. Driver's license with own transportation if possible
Ministry Skills: Creative art ability (singing, dance, interpretive movement, etc.), ability to learn choreography, artistic ability (face painting/balloon twisting), ability to relate to children, worship leadership, pastoral care, and evangelism.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Participate and lead in Creative Art Performances in secular settings.
2. Provide face painting and ballooning in malls.
3. Lead worship services.
4. Assist in coordination and supervision of mission teams.
5. Lead and teach Bible studies and devotions.
6. Prepare and lead day camps.
7. Provide pastoral care and evangelism to lifeguards and mall employees.
8. Assist in other ministries of LCM and SRBA.
