Sports Ministry Sojourner/ Innovator/Summer Missionary
Base of Service: Beaufort, South Carolina
Term of Service: May 29 - August 4, 2007
Local Orientation: May 29 - June 1, 2007 (Required for all staff)
Day Off: Saturday
Number of volunteers needed: 1 Sojourner, 3 Innovators, 1 Summer Missionary
Principle Function: To lead sport clinics with at risk children and families in Beaufort and Jasper counties, SC.
Sponsoring Ministry
The purpose of LowCountry Ministries (LCM) is to facilitate volunteers of all ages to express the love of God and the care of the churches to the people who live, play, work and visit in Beaufort and Jasper counties, South Carolina. LCM is a ministry of the Savannah River Baptist Association (SRBA) of churches.
Student volunteer ministries will include: faith-based sports camps held in partnership with local Boys and Girls Clubs, county recreation departments, and local churches; Migrant Ministry; assisting in worship through drama

Personal Characteristics
1. Christian student who is actively involved in a local church
2. There is no ethnic or gender preference.

5. Driver's license with own transportation if possible
6. Mature student who is able to handle supervisory roles and get along with others
Ministry Skills: Athletic ability, speaking ability, able to lead devotions, strong relational skills, worship leadership, pastoral care, evangelism.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Plan, direct, and lead sports ministries to children throughout our area.
2. Relate to leadership at sponsoring churches and organizations.
3. Assist with Migrant Ministry.
4. Provide children’s activities (face painting and ballooning) at special events.
5. Assist in other ministries of LCM or SRBA.
